W's on transcripts

Hey everyone!

So I'm applying as a 2011 transfer and I have a total of 7 W's on both of my college transcripts. However, the majority of classes that I received a W in I re-took the following semester and passed them with an A. I'm wondering if this would really effect my chances at USC. There's nothing I can do about the W's now and I have learned to really consider which classes I need to take before enrolling, however I hope USC doesn't see all these W's and think I'm a dropout or something...I have about a 3.5-3.6 GPA, letters of recommendation from my professor in music and the owner of a studio in cali, outstanding essay, and I've worked really hard since my high school days when a 2.5 when my final GPA. I'm just wondering if there is anything else I can do. I'm applying for the Music Industry major at USC. Thanks everyone!

Like I said, just send them an addendum explaining why you had those 7 W’s on your transcript. Many times people have to withdraw due to family or medical issues and as long as you have a valid reason for the W’s, you have no reason to worry.

Just makes sure there is an explanation in your application somewhere :)
