WSJ Ranking of Top Feeder Schools

What I like about the study is that it shows that liberal arts colleges are, in fact, very prestigious. Many people have never even heard of Williams and assume it is a bad college, but it ranked FIFTH in the nation.

what if a large percentage of students at a given school dont want to go to grad school? Wouldnt a better study focus on the percentage of students who applied to top grad school and the numbers that got in? Maybe top LAC are favored because more of their students apply for grad school?

Don't let it bother you, Curious. Just buy into it wholeheartedly like everyone else on this thread.

No- LAC students actually tend to apply to Phd programs more than professional schools, and the study was just on biz, med, and law.

well, not more than professional schools, but a higher % of LAC grads get Phds relative to profesional degrees than university grads.

I would submit that Swat sends far more students into academia than would Williams which would likely send more MBAs/JDs onward for example.

lol, fountain! What a girl!!!
