These are very interesting rankings. I wonder how they’ll be received as the word gets out. I think that these days, the Wall Street Journal is a more reputable publication than US News (which I’ve heard pretty much only still exists because of its ranking issue).
The online comments associated the Wall Street Journal article include a lot of Ivy League types trading jabs at each other. Haven’t seen anyone post anything about USC in the comments, but there is a parallel article in the WSJ that mentions how USC got a big boost, compared to the US News rankings. The Journal’s rankings put liberal arts colleges in the same set as research universities, US News separates them into a different list altogether.
