WSJ: Why Shouldn't Princeton Pay Taxes?

Without Caterpillar, Peoria would be nothing, many people would move away in search of work elsewhere, and dozens if not hundreds of local businesses would shut down. Does that mean Caterpillar shouldn’t pay taxes?

Sure–if it can make a credible threat to move if it doesn’t get a tax break. It’s kind of a moot point in this discussion, since Princeton isn’t going anywhere.</p>
