I am currently a sophomore undergraduate student and plan to transfer to Olympic College this Spring to finish up my general education requirements, find work, and hopefully attain residency status in Washington state. After that, I plan to transfer to a four year university--right now, it's between UW and WSU.

I am really interested in majoring in either Microbiology or Philosophy (or work on a double-major), and also join the Pre-Med program (I just discovered a little too late that this was the profession I wish to pursue). But after community college, I should be an incoming junior.

I know I probably won't be finishing up all requirements in the next three years (but I'll try, haha), but I do want to graduate in the minimum time as possible. I'm turning 20 this year, and considering the path I want to pursue, I'd like to start as soon as I can.

So my questions are:

1) Since I also want to pursue Microbiology research in the future, how are the Science Departments in WSU or in UW?

2) How are the student-teacher ratios in WSU and in UW?

3) How helpful are the pre-med advisors in WSU and in UW? And what medical volunteer opportunities do I have in WSU?

4) Lastly, I'll either be applying to WSU for Spring and UW for Summer Quarter. I know it isn't a guarantee that I'll get in, but if I want to start as University as soon as possible, so should I just go for WSU? Or wait a bit more for UW?

Thank you! :)
