I’m doing EECS too
Hello girls,
This is my first College Confidential post, and I’m ecstatic to make my WTP-EECS acceptance my first post. Congratulations to all the admits!
If you don’t mind, could you please post your statistics (SAT/ACT/PSAT, GPA, AP, SATII, extracurriculars/leadership) on this thread?
Also, has Ms. Skier created the Facebook Group yet? I would love to get to know you girls!
See you in June!
I’m also in EECS. I had a 1480 PSAT and 4.5 GPA, and my main extracurriculars were academic decathlon and video production. I don’t think the facebook group is made yet, but I hope it is soon.
@nerdyfeminist
Stats:
ACT: 34C,35R, 35M, 34E, 32S
PSAT: 1450
GPA: 4.2
AP: Bio (4)
SAT II: Math II (800), Biology-E (680) … the bio one wasn’t the greatest, I know
Extracurriculars: Mainly piano and viola (playing in both the school and regional orchestra), but also my volunteer positions at our local hospital and my church. I also mentioned my (past) involvement in my school newspaper and track.
Leadership: Principal Violist in both orchestras, past Assistant Editor of newspaper
Essays: I mentioned I was from a small town and coming to WTP would really allow me to meet people with my same interests (that I wouldn’t have access to here where I live). I talked about skipping a grade and how others would disregard what I am able to do … but it’s always fun to prove them wrong. Also along skipping a grade, I mentioned how I’m able to bridge groups by age etc. In the last essay question, I talked about my involvement in piano, and how much of my success can be traced back to the values I’ve learned through my practice.
As far as I know, Ms. Skier hasn’t opened up a Facebook group, but I think she’ll give us more info soon. After all, we’re less than two weeks away!
SAT/ACT - didn’t take it before i applied
PSAT - 1340 last year 1430 this year
GPA - 4.54 as of end of sophomore year
extra curr. - model un (wrote about in challenge essay), history quizbowl, marching band, swim team, archery (wrote about in 4th essay), volunteer at local food pantry
leadership - vp of model un last year, president this year. librarian in band last year, vp this year. marching technician in marching band this year. archery coach
in the first essay i talked about how i didnt know what an engineer was/did for a living, and i mentioned that there were only 6 girls in my precalc class and 3 in my ap comsci class (including me) and that i wanted to meet girls with similar interests as me
DD1 was a WTP participant. That experience and the people she met there have had a bigger impact on her than she ever imagined.
Congratulations to all of you! Do your best, don’t be afraid to take risks, have fun, and meet new people. You will remember it always.
It’s just a random (and weird) question, do we need to bring a quilt? Like the regular one we use at home? On the packet I saw that they provide a pillow, sheets and a coverlet, but on the “packing list” it didn’t say to bring a blanket/quilt…
WE’RE DOWN TO THE SINGLE DIGITS GUYS. I can’t wait to see everybody in NINE DAYS!!
Hey!! I am applying to WTP this year and this is the only college confidential post I found about it. Did you guys leave any scores out? Because I have a good ACT score and an okay SAT score but my PSAT (1300) is kinda sucky and I was wondering if I could just maybe not include it.
wow this thread was very wholesome
the wholesome technology program
@charykit1 Last year I put in all my scores- technically I think you’re supposed to put in all the test scores you have, but if you have any concerns you can maybe email Ms. Skier, the director?
