Any guesses to what time you think admissions will be out tomorrow? (If it’s tomorrow…) I’m gonna go ahead and say 5 PM

Just because that’s generally the time for a lot of schools.

Don’t ask me about Kendrick or Q, Jay Rock, Zaywop, or SZA’s $exy a$$ too.

Did anyone here NOT have an interview?

@fdizzle last year, they started posting decisions around 3:00 PM CST, so I guess they’ll stick with it this year

@Joe2015‌

I didn’t have an interview. I wasn’t offered one and didn’t request one. I showed very little interest so I expect I will be wait listed.

How did they even expect you to show interest? I thought there wasn’t even a “Why WUSTL?” supplemental question?

I didn’t have an interview. Wasn’t contacted for one. How much of a negative impact did that have?

I requested an interview, but got an answer like 10 days later saying that they weren’t offering any more interviews, but that it was going to be indicated in my app that I requested one. Anyways, it was honestly their fault because they took so long answering the email, I requested it well before the deadline.

I interviewed in January and it was the worst interview I’ve ever had in my life. I was so tempted to call WUSTL to tell them how bad my interviewer was. He just didn’t care and gave one word responses. Well at least I showed interest…

@Rappnic‌ Same here, I emailed them asking for an interview in mid-December but they replied:

“Thank you for contacting the Alumni and Parents Admission Program (APAP) at Washington University. We are no longer taking additional requests for alumni interviews. Please do not worry, however, as an interview is not a required part of the Washington University application. We have placed a note in your application file indicating that you requested an interview, but that due to time constraints, we were unable to accommodate your request.”

I’m not sure how they were able to place a note in my application file about this though, since I emailed them in December before I had even submitted my Common App…

Didn’t get contacted for an interview, and didn’t ask for one, but that’s probably due to the fact that I submitted my app at the last minute.

I had 2 interviews: one local and one at campus. My first interview went horribly, and I was in a terrible mood because the day before, I had just got rejected from Vanderbilt. A few weeks down, I visited campus and noticed an interview option and I took it. And in my luck, all of the students were already taken for interviews, and I was given an admissions counselor who is great friends with my ad counselor. Do you think it would show “double”/more interest if I did two interviews, a “Why WashU” Essay, continuously email the admissions counselor I had an interview with, and a visit?

@Epicorangeninja‌ This is a complete guess, but I would like to say that, yes, you have probably demonstrated quite a lot of interest and someone probably will notice this - especially with the essay.

@butterfreesnd‌ Same here. It was the application with the latest deadline (of my reaches) so I put off applying until the last minute.

how do kids know whether to e-mail an admissions counselor or not? Some schools seem to want you to submit the minimum of there app – don’t want an arts or other supplement unless your ability far exceeds HS level – and others seem to consider demonstrated interest as part of their decisions process. Is it all about yield rates? What if you simply cannot visit campus? Or the interviews were all full? My S interviewed as part of the alumni program, and a friend of his who has WashU as his #1 pick never could get an interview. Obviously we are finished with this year, but looking to my younger ones, how do we figure this piece out for future years?

@Epicorangeninja Where did you write your essay?

And to everyone, how did you all get an interview? I didn’t got contacted for an interview and I thought you can only interview on the interview days or on campus?
