Does anyone have the link to the official FB group for accepted students? I was accepted earlier today but my request to join the FB group has not been accepted yet. Has any other RD admit tried to join the group?
Accepted! I applied ED and got deferred, so waitlisted people don’t lose hope! (and if you were waitlisted at WashU, you’re for sure over qualified for many many great schools)
4.00 UW GPA, 4.85 W (all honors/ AP core classes w/ some non- honors academic electives)
35 composite, 5’s on AP’s, Captain of 3 varsity teams
LOTS of demonstrated interest, I think emailing my admissions counselor after being deferred really pushed me forward.
Accepted
3.95 UW took most rigorous course offered 32 composite 34 superscore; lots of leadership (school vice president, club president); captain and 4 year letter in two sports; I do a lot of art and compete in a lot of art shows; big volunteer: 8 hrs per week at nursing home and I run a non profit that raises money for cancer research; work on weekends as well. Some demonstrated interest, but not much (visited campus and attended local presentation); really good recs
Waitlisted. White Male. Engineering.
34 ACT, ranked 1st in class, lots of volunteer work/leadership/athletic achievement, did an interview/toured campus/often emailed admissions counselor.
Disappointed to say the least. Completely destroys my confidence waiting to hear from Dartmouth, UPenn, Notre Dame, Michigan, and Vanderbilt. Thought WashU would be the easiest for sure.
Good start to the week
@LittlePavs Did you demonstrate interest? As stated by many others, being waitlisted can indicate that you’re over qualified. So don’t lose confidence.
Definitely. I did the interview and thought I showed that it was my first choice, toured campus, and tried to stay in contact with my admissions counselor. Maybe being from St. Louis had an effect on it.
15 students from my school applying, too.
Still, seeing the other waitlisted applicants and their stats makes me realize it wasn’t such an easy admit at all.
Who knows, maybe it will be good for me
Hopefully hear some good news from the above colleges! And congrats to all those accepted!
@LaceyLou96 I think it’s here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1511309242487530/
Replace those *** with fb.com
@Marisa58 Thank you! That is the group I requested to join. Were you, or anyone else accepted RD, able to join?
Accepted
Engineering
33 ACT
4.0 Unweighted
@LittlePavs I agree with you on the surprise about who got in or not. I’m seeing some of the rejects on here, and wondering how WashU could reject them, and choose me. I’m waitlisted, but still: I wasn’t flat out rejected.
@LaceyLou96 Afraid not. Maybe message the group admins?
If i accept the spot on the wait list, it doesn’t mean I have to attend right?
Not gonna lie guys, but this waitlist kinda stings a bit. WashU was my top choice, and I thought I had the stats to attend, but I guess not.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION??
You do not have to attend.
@littlepavs hang in there…with your stats you should have no problem with Michigan. My daughter got into Michigan and outright rejected from Wash U…we never visited and honestly, she applied because they made it so darn easy with no supplement…nonetheless, I’m sure you will get in somewhere great with those stats. This sounds like a really tough year to get in Wash U.
Accepted!!
College of Arts and Sciences
3.6 UW GPA (HUGE upward trend from freshman year)
2000 SAT
Solid EC’s
Really good teacher recommendations from what they told me
I honestly couldn’t be more happy!!! I wasn’t expecting this at all! To everyone who got in, congrats!! To everyone who got waitlisted or rejected please make sure to keep your chins up, the fact that you’re applying to a school of this caliber means you’re very smart people and will most likely get into one of your top choices. I’ve had my moments in this process where you feel like it’s the end for you, but try to remain hopeful that things will work out in your favor
@longisland234 Congrats to you as well! I’m happy for you.
@Marisa58 thanks so much! good luck with the rest of your colleges!
Daughter accepted! 4.0/2290/34, Intel STS semifinalist with published paper, music. Congratulations to all of you who got in!
