I'm an international student in Japan, and desperate for advice!!

I was admitted to WashU and Vassar, and Grinnell.
WashU and Grinnell is offering me the same amount of grant, and I'm choosing WashU over Grinnell.

But I really can't decide between WashU and Vassar!
I haven't visited either of them (will do this month...I hope it'll help me make up my mind), but both school have pros and cons- vassar has better "study abroad" programs, but doesn't offer linguistics, etc.
Vassar's scholarship sounds great- my family can pay $16000/yr. for college, and with vassar's grants we only have to pay $12000. For WashU, we're gonna have to have some loans in Japan, since I don't have any relatives in the U.S....

I'm plannng to major in International Studies and/or Linguistics, but I may change my mind to Politics or Law.

Which would you attend?

p.s Someone please tell me the figures of students moving on to graduate schools, and which graduate school they go to.
e.g.how many students get into HYP graduate school?

if your looking for prestige i would say vassar, because more people in the american public know of the school, while many don't know wustl, plus the difference in the schools isn't large enough to disregard the significant financial aid they are giving you

Both are good schools, but have different personalities. The best way to determine is by visiting (which it sounds like you will do). Try to arrange for an overnight in a dorm, attend classes, talk to students and profs and get a feeling which campus atmosphere suits you best. Opinions on CC or just that - opinions. Only you can determine which school is the best fit for you.

I really didn't know how to compare Vassar & WashU in academics or prestige, except to look at rankings, but rankings aren't the best way to find out about colleges...so thanks for your opinions!

I'm visiting both schools this month, so I hope I will be able to feel the atmosphere and decide which one suits me better.

Meanwhile, does anyone know how many students go to which graduate schools from WashU and Vassar??
And about international relations and Linguistics- does anyone know which school hs better courses/ professors??
