my parents both went to wash u class of '79

I have been in constant contact with my regional person

any opinions would be appreciated

How'd you get deferred with double legacy? Are your courses easy? You stayed in contact too...huh? Try and visit...I guess. They aren't need-blind, do you have enough money to pay out of pocket?

if you didnt get in with double legacy...i have doubts.

Ditto...unless maybe your regional contact is annoyed? Just a thought. It's very strange that you would get deferred. Your stats are very good...Anyway, I definitely think you'll get accepted in the end. Hope you did well on your SATs.

JB, do you by any chance know why they deferred you?

My I think I forgot to mention I am an IB Diploma candidate, I took IB physics in addition to the diploma and I am taking AP calc AB. It is from my understanding after speaking to admissions people and after my teachers have called that my grades are low, i the 97 and 100 avgs are weighted. The my regional rep has indicated I have a very good chance RD. It is my belief that Wash U goes for the kids with the highest stats ED, who can blame them. I think I was deferred because my grades and scores, although good, are not great and wash u was looking to build stats. Also I do not require any financial aid.

oh i see... well good luck during rd

I actually think you might be mistaken about WashU taking students with good stats for ED. At my highschool 4 males and 1 female (including myself) were all admitted and all these students have really good extra-curriculars and not particularly high stats.

well good luck regardless

well my source is from someone who works in admissions

someone in admissions told you that WashU looks for students with high stats during ED? Fascinating...
