WashU has a reputation for waitlisting loads of applicants to increase their yield. A cursory look at its Naviance page for my school confirms this. Then again, WashU doesnāt publish its Common Data Set, so no one knows if this is actually true. I would tend to believe it is, though.

No, but Iām accepting a spot on the waitlist. Whatās the harm, right?

Accepted!!! I have no idea how. My essay sucked. UW gpa 3.96, SAT: 2000. Soo excited. Good luck to everyone else!!

Waitlisted. I was expecting to be rejected so Iām cool with it. WashU wasnāt very high on my list and since
I didnāt apply to their merit scholarships It would not be affordable, but good luck to others who got wait listed! Good news is definitely in store, and same to those who were rejected. For the acceptees- congratulations!

Waitlisted.

32 ACT, 4.6 GPA (weighted)

The fact that I actually got waitlisted >>>>>

My stats were

2200 SAT (690 CR, 710 M, 800 W)
Though it was super scored and I took it in January so they may have only received my 2150ā¦

32 ACT

3.72 GPA (prob what killed me)

Showed lots of interest. Wash U was my top choice and I got flat out rejected. Iām so heartbroken. :(

Oh weāll Iām moving on. Iām bummed you guys arenāt my future classmates though.

My d got in! First college acceptance, waiting for other schools before making a decision.
ACT 35 (one sitting)
SAT II 800, 790 (one sitting)
GPA unweighted 4.0
No demonstrated interest at all, didnāt have time to apply for merit, applied for fin aid though

I got in! So shocked! 33 ACT/3.88 GPA UW, no hooks, a little demonstrated interest (went to an info session).

I got wait listed
ACT: 31 highest 32 Superscore
SAT: 1880 one sitting
GPA: 4.0 unweighted until this past semester than 4.28 weighted this past semester
Tons of ECs and my grandpa got his MBA and my uncle his JD from WashU

Our son got a wait-listed , it seems most people who posted on decisions thread were wait-listed. Are they known to wait-list a lot of students? Do the colleges have a way of finding out from the common app website about the other colleges an applicant has applied to?
Sons stats in brief: Weighted GPA(9-11):4.4, SAT: 2380, SAT Subject (M2, Bio, Chem, Phy):800

My s is waitlisted . 2260 SAT 36 ACT NMF 4.45 GPA w
He showed some interest with an interview and email/mailing list.
Looks like they could fill a class just with the wait listers on cc!

Congrats to all who were accepted!. Hopefully good news coming our way and to all those w/l or denied later this month

Waitlisted, oh well I didnāt show any extra interest on WashU, so I guess I deserved a waitlist. 2250 SAT, about 3.8~9 GPA.

For those that are waitlisted check out this link. [Is it Worth the Wait?](http://www.collegebound.net/content/article/is-it-worth-the-wait-/19178/)
If WUSTL is your #1 you should show persistent but polite interest from multiple routes. Donāt seem desperate but do show keen commitment that this is the school you can add value to.

Good luck

Got into the Engineering school for Biomedical Engineering as well as became a Summer Scholar in Biology and Biomedical Research.

4.9 Weighted
3.9 Unweighted
Rank :10
35 ACT
12 AP classes throughout high school
a butt load of extra curricular activities.

If we are waitlisted at multiple universities, can we only commit to one university?

^I think you are allowed to w/l at multiple colleges

But I see no point of WUās Waitlistā¦ You donāt know until after May 1

Iām really considering not accepting a waitlist spotā¦from this thread alone there are so many people who really want to go, and I feel sort of selfish impeding the possibility of them getting a spotā¦itās kind of weird reasoning but idkā¦

OMG I GOT ACCEPTED !
honestly, i was so anxious and worried today during school and stuffā¦
college of arts and sciences
34 ACT
3.9 uw gpa, 4.3 w gpa
I canāt wait to meet everyone next year!!!
btw, for those that got waitlisted/denied, DONT WORRY youāre gonna end up somewhere awesome where u can truly flourish; regardless of the place, college is an amazing experience :D
