WUSTL Class of 2018 USPM

Anyone here applying to USPM at washu? where is everyone at in their applications?

I applied ED to WashU and am waiting to hear back before I start the USPM app. It’s pretty long though… and the merit scholarship apps are as well! One reason to be happy if I don’t get in…

^What a way to look at it hahahaha

:D Really enjoy the positivity here in the CC WUSTLE Sub-forum

Cheers and good luck everyone

haha true true. Yea wustl’s 8 year thing is like SUPER SUPER hard to get into. might be the hardest to get into as well… but then again their reqs are pretty rigorous too: 36 mcat, 3.8? ouchhhh but either way i wanna get into wustl first, 8 year is a secondary objective. wustl is a GREAT school, esp for all us premeds. where are yall from?

i’m a northern california girl. yeah it’s so hard to get into that i figure if i make it into washu, which is already doubtful, i might as well go for it. i probably don’t have the numbers but what the hell? can’t hurt to apply.

nor cal? sweet, Anitalend! im a NCer haha. WUSTL and is coast to coast presence ;)

yeah… my parents think it’s crazy that i want to go to the midwest (they both attended University of Chicago Law and HATE cold weather) but for some reason all the schools i want to go to are there… i’m also applying to grinnell, carleton, uchicago, kenyon, etc… what about you?

I Haha wow ur parents went to some great places! Good to have that legacy! All my applications are northeast except for one in Midwest one in Texas and stanford in the west Hahah

I was wondering if writing over a page would severely hurt my chances of getting into the med program. I talked with an admissions officer and she said they wouldn’t penalize me if I wrote over a page, but I wrote about a page and a half and I can’t really shorten it. Idk seems kind of long to me…

how long are your essays ?

hahah to be honest, these USPM essays are like one of the most important factors for gettin an interview so I wouldn’t be suprised if several applicants have 1.5 pages. Currently my essays are gearing up to be near 800-850 words which is pretty much a 1.5 page length. just make sure that everythin in ur essay isnt repetition or laggy cause tht would hurt you, otherwise the more the better? to a limit…haha

The USPM requirements might just be an excuse to grant graduates MSTP status more easily. One could get into WUSTL’s med school with lowers stats than USPM’s unruly standards.

Well, the average GPA to get into WashU’s med school is around 3.97.

@Tubacaflaca 3.93  [Wash U School of Medicine in St. Louis - Rankings & Admissions Info](http://medical-schools.findthebest.com/l/4/Washington-University-in-St-Louis-School-of-Medicine)

It’s harder to get into WUSTL med school through USPM because of the stress. US News ranks it one of the, if not the, most stressful school in the nation.

Either way, it is by far one of the most competitive med schools in the country.

Just for the record, the “most stressful schools” article is the biggest load of horse crap. It’s based on the most ridiculous measures.

I got the finalist notification. March27-29 Anyone else ?
