WUSTL issue

Hey,

So WashU. has a rolling transfer policy beginning in mid december where they notify students 30 days after receiving their applications. If accepted, students have only two weeks to send their deposits back to WashU. I guess the idea is to fill up a higher percentage of the class earlier (like an ED for transfers?).

My question is how are other people who are applying/considering applying to WashU. dealing with this issue. Are you guys just going to wait until the deadline before sending off your app to allow for your apps to other schools to be considered?

WashU is a fluid number 4-5 on my list of schools and I would love to attend, but would it be worth it to apply there at the very beginning of the application session to increase my chances, even if that meant screwing the #1-3(4) schools on my list?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

If you get in, deposit first and make wustl something you can fall back on.
If later you get into your #1-3, tell wustl you won't be attending (losing your $200) and deposit at the new school.

Oh, I get it. The notification you give WashU does not OBLIGATE you to attend? You can just pay the deposit (sucks about losing the money though) and continue to wait for the other decisions?

Thanks, I appreciate the info.

...unless you have to sign a binding agreement

I'd call them to make sure :P

Haha (sign the x with...your blood).

I'll call them tomorrow then. Thanks for the information.

do we send in our first quarter/semester grades in when we submit the application to wustl?

Yeah, then if they need it, the midterms.

i'm sure it's just a deposit and not a binding agreement.

I just realized that my first post said 'mid december' when I meant to say Mid JANUARY. Big difference, my bad.

Please do let us know what you discover! I'm quite interested!

So have we discovered if it's officially binding or not?

it's not binding.
