WUSTL or Boston University??

So I finally decided to sign up for an account because I really can’t make the decision right now. My decision has come down to BU or WUSTL. I was accepted to Boston University’s College of Communication and WUSTL’s College of arts and Science. I’m thinking of majoring in anything related to film or media, so it should be hands down BU College of Communication since it’s so top notch.

But at the same time, I only have a faint idea on what I want to major in. I’m interested in Communication but I’m not committed to it, nor do I want to have a career on only that in the future. In fact, I’ve been interested in Business for a long time, before I discovered my interest in Communication, which is why I was considering WUSTL’s Olin School. I learned that if I go into College of Communication, I’m basically gonna be stuck doing communication all four years, whereas in WUSTL, I could transfer a lot easier and double major in business and media studies.

In terms of the campus and city, I visited both in spring break and find that I like WUSTL’s campus and social vibe a lot more and everyone I’ve talked to has told me they love Wash u. And the weather there is sooo much nicer for me. But then College of Communication is so tempting since it’s such a good school to do Communication in.

Another plan I was thinking of is that I should go to wash u for undergrad, where it’s easier to double major and switch majors, since I’m still trying to explore my interests, and when it comes to grad school, I can then decide what i really wanna do and focus on it. So yeah, from what i see now, I’d be so much happier in Wash U, but BU’s College of Communication would probably help me get a better job though. I don’t know… Any opinion would be appreciated! :))

I don’t know why you think BU would give you a better job.

WashU. Though both are fine schools, WashU is at another lever. Combined with the fact that you enjoyed it there and it seems like a good fit, I do not think the BU College of Communications is a better option – especially since you might change your mind about your field of study.

Are we to assume that the bottom line cost of both schools is the same or is your family above that concern?

It sounds like you prefer WashU and that you are still unsure about what you want to study – so that would lead me to think WashU is the better choice.

With the financial aids, the cost of both are about the same, so I’m not thinking of the financial aspect now.

Purple Titan: It’s not that BU can get me a better job, but since no one really knows about Wash U’s media program, I just thought BU’s College of Communication would be more recognized.

People would know about WashU.

In general, making assumptions just isn’t a good idea.

Alright guess I’m really leaning towards Wash U now. Thanks for your inputs!
