WUSTL or Northwestern?

WUSTL or Northwestern?

I choose WUSTL :)

Northwestern all the way!!!

Northwestern!
Although both universities have amazing academics, happy+brilliant students, and similar name recognition, NU is just so much more cooler! haha

Instead of making a well reasoned, rational, point by point post explaining why NU is the superior institution, I'm gonna do this:

My school (NU) could beat up your school (WUSTL)!*

*Specifically football teams...

Northwestern ftw !

WUSTL?

Hrmm...

Of course, I'd pick Northwestern! :D

wustl? ew.

northwestern

yea..wildcats can easily beat the bears! :p

you made quite a few Northwestern vs XYZ threads. why did you do that if you like washu better? ;)

northwestern

WashU has a better pre-med program, and also has as top medical school...

No, I am wondering why you are making various Northwestern vs XYZ threads. Are you having an issue with the school or the students?

Northwestern..hands down

oh, is northwestern your dream school? You cannot deny the superiority of WUSTL's pre-med program.

Wash U has a very top-notch med school. That says nothing about the strength of the pre-med program. The strength of a program is largely a function of its med school acceptance rate. From some NU literature, it says that about 80 percent of students who apply to medical school get into at least one school.

^Yep. I don't know why people try to draw a link b/w the undergrad program and the med school. These are probably the same people who think JHU has an extraordinary premed program.

90% of georgetown pre-med applicants get into at least one school

i like how you never answer the question. it's pretty clear you were just trying to stir things up for nothing. don't you think your action is a little childish?

I also seriously doubt you gave a correct admit rate for Georgetown given this from their website:

[quote]
The 20 most popular schools that Georgetown undergraduates apply to are (in descending order): Georgetown, George Washington, Drexel, New York Medical College, Thomas Jefferson, Boston University, Temple, Tufts, Loyola, Albany Medical College, Tulane, St. Louis, Virginia Commonwealth, NYU, Maryland, Rosalind Franklin, Einstein, Vermont, Eastern Virginia, and Wake Forest. Admissions success for Georgetown students at these schools ranges from 2% to almost 25%.

The 2% admit rate is probably for NYU. Princeton is the one that got 90% admit rate and for them, the admit rate to NYU is almost 25%! Big difference!

Very valid point Sam. One must look at where students are applying to.

Furthermore, Medical school placement rates are misleading because each university approaches graduate school applications differently. Some schools actively discourage applicants from applying to Medical or Law school if their odds of getting accepted aren't good. Other universities, particularly state schools, do do not (or cannot) discourage students from applying to Medical Schools. The relative strengths of the applicant pools will varry greatly based on a university's approach to the graduate application process.

At any rate, WUSTL and Northwestern are both elite universities. I give the edge to NU, but WUSTL is also great.
