WUSTL vs. Notre Dame

Hello! I plan on majoring in biology, possibly doing pre-med, and I am deciding between Notre Dame and Washington University in St. Louis. Here are some of my positives and negatives: (also, they both come down to about $10,000 a year)
WUSTL:
-spent three days here
-very friendly people/feel like I would fit in really well
-DIII cross country team/loved the team and coach
-worried about keeping GPA up if I major in Biology and decided to go to med school (friend there has a 3.3 and is way smarter than me)
-worried about large amount that drop out of Bio or BME
-follow them on Facebook and it seems like people don't like there school/study all the time

Notre Dame:
-farther away
-not as sure if I would fit in as well
-has a major/program that I really like (APPL)
-feels like people really love their school
-not as cool of a city as St. Louis
-love the sports teams/school spirit
-My twin brother is going here

Any comments, suggestions, past experiences with the school??? Thanks a ton everyone!

I am a first year student at Wash U, but when I was applying I highly considered Notre Dame as well. As a pre-med student I felt Wash U had more to offer me in terms of research opportunities (I work in a lab at Wash U’s medical school) and academic flexibility. Another thing about Wash U is that the pre-med resources here are outstanding (check out the MedPrep Program, it’s great!) Also, if you run cross country, our teams are consistently very good!

Majoring in Biology is very doable here, actually a good percentage of the students start out as Bio majors. So no need to worry if you dedicate enough time to your classes you can do well here.

Can you describe the APPL program at ND? There very well might be something similar offered here at Wash U. And if you have any more questions about Wash U, feel free to post or PM me!

Thank you so much for your reply!!! I actually did find something really similar to the APPL program. I think that Wash U might have more research opportunities as well and its a little closer to where I live now. Thanks, again! :)
