Gender: F
Location: Los Angeles
College Class Year: 2013
High School: Public, Competitive, Affluent
I attend my high school through an inter-district permit ( other I would be going to the more run-down public high school).
I am a first-generation college student. My parents are Vietnamese immigrants, and their combined total income <$40,000. So I had been looking for schools that have great financial aid/are need-blind/are looking for some socioeconomic diversity.

Washington University in St. Louis
Wesleyan University
Carnegie Mellon University
Vassar College
Skidmore College
Grinnell
Whitman
UCLA
Maryland Institute College of Art (though you can't evaluate me on this..)
UC Santa Barbara
UC Irvine

My possible majors ( am planning on double-majoring) are Studio Art and sociology/history/urban studies

I’d say you stand a good chance…but it also depends on your portfolio (at least at CMU and UCLA…don’t know about the others…), so be sure to have a good one (kinda obvious there…heh)

Washington University in St. Louis: Reach
Wesleyan University: Reach
Carnegie Mellon University: Reach
Vassar College: Reach
Skidmore College: Match
Grinnell: Low reach
Whitman: Match
UCLA: Reach
Maryland Institute College of Art (though you can’t evaluate me on this…): Depends on your art portfolio
UC Santa Barbara: Safety
UC Irvine: Safety

I didn’t take into account your EC’s or leadership positions though, but I’m guessing the EC’s you listed would boost most of the Reaches into Low Reaches (especially for Carnegie Mellon). Chance me as well! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/580933-low-gpa-no-chance-all.html</a> (my stats aren’t as good as yours :frowning: )
