WVU Extended Learning

I have to make a big move within the next three months and don't know where exactly I'm moving to. Thus, I am switching into the WVU Extended Learning MDS program. I'm hoping this will take the extra stress of transferring off my shoulders and since I only need about 40 more credits, most of my undergrad will still be tradition.

I'm a bit nervous though. I've had some online classes but not many and I'm not really sure what I should expect. Also, I have never had the "college experience" that everyone anticipates and I feel like I'm losing my chance to do so. Though it could just be that I'm not the type of person who thrives in a traditional university experience. I'm rather self-driven and hungry for information. I'm not sure this makes any sense.

My point is that I want to know experiences people have had in the Extended Learning program? Is it harder to make friends since you don't have the traditional classroom in which to meet people with similar interests? Is there a possibility of doing any type of undergraduate research?
