WVU, Penn State, Pitt, or Kentucky?

I’d like a bit of input on these four colleges. I still have yet to be accepted into Pitt and Penn State. If I’m denied from both, I’ll pretty much be narrowed down to West Virginia and the University of Kentucky.

I still need to visit Kentucky and am going in February although I’m not too keen on southern culture. All four of them seem to be a pretty good match and I wouldn’t mind going to any of them. Does anyone have any pros/cons or input on any of these colleges?

I’m an undecided major and am interested in a larger school with an outgoing atmosphere. I’m located in Pittsburgh so they’re all relatively close to home except for Kentucky. I’m receiving academic scholarships from WVU and UK. Thanks so much!

If you’re in PA, I would stay stick with your in-state options to save cost as they are both great schools. I haven’t been to any, but I know many NJ kids very happy at all but Kentucky. Good luck!

I would stay in-state if you get accepted to one or both, and if they have a similar or lower cost-of-attendance as UK or WVU.

I don’t know how your scholarships compare, but if it comes down to UK vs WVU, I would choose the one with a much lower cost-of-attendance. If they are similar, I guess maybe a visit to both is in order, but I would strongly lean toward WVU based on proximity. It is so much more convenient going to school 1.5 hours away vs 6 hours.

I have heard that for lots of PA students, WVU is actually more affordable than many of the in-state options.

I’m trying to be objective b/c I am biased towards WVU. My brother’s family are all happy Mountaineers.
