XAVIER + scholarships?

Anyone with any experience about financial aid and Xavier University?

hows the fin aid?
scholarships?
% need met?

did u/your son or daughter get a good package?

btw, rough stats: Rank: 7/270, ny state public high, good school, gpa: 97/100, SAT: 1370. tonss of ECs and awards

thanks!

My friend's D got a "less than needed" package from Xavier, so she had to go elsewhere. Her family's income is much higher than yours is so you may have better luck.

You really need to use the F/A calculator and see what your EFC is.

Which Xavier? The one in Ohio, or the one in NOLA, the leading producer of med students in the U.S.?

One of D's classmates (who plans to be a doctor) is going to Xavier in NO. I would imagine she got a pretty generous package; her family wouldn't have been able to afford it otherwise.

Their website has some calculators. (<a href="http://www.xula.edu)%5B/url%5D">www.xula.edu)</a>. It also says that their scholarships are based primarily on academic record and SAT. The pharmacy program is also very well-regarded.

I remember that Xavier was very badly hit by Katrina, worse than Tulane. How has it recovered since?

Enrollment is at about 70% what it was pre-K. They are still rebuilding. Among other things, the undergraduate research facilities were totally destroyed. The United Negro College Fund and the Nation of Qatar have been pretty generous in helping them, and so far, they're still getting nice mentions in the rankings.

This site has a link to a 6 minute video that supposed to be very good: <a href="http://www.xula.edu/institutional-advancement/tmax.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.xula.edu/institutional-advancement/tmax.htm</a>

This site has links to pictures and news releases:

I haven't seen the video. Print and pictures I am ok with, but it's still hard for me to watch videos, even the upbeat "we're resilent" ones.
