Xfer from a CUNY

Hello, I recently decided that I was not going to attend a school that I initially thought I wanted to attend (nyu-poly) and decided to attend Hunter CUNY instead because it would be much easier to pay for, and had a good reputation. I chose Hunter college because it was relatively close and I have heard good things about it, but I do not know what I want to major in. My question is would I have a good chance to xfer from Hunter if it doesn't suit me well, to a school that would be considered top-notch? (Assuming I do well in Hunter) I don't have any names in mind particularly but if it came down to that scenario, I would be interested in knowing if I didn't screw up in deciding to attend Hunter, especially since I am not majoring in the areas that Hunter is known for, which I believe is mostly medical stuff.

If anybody has some personal experience with a similar scenario then it would really help me make up my mind as well.

Thanks in advance for reading my dilemma and possibly taking time to respond.

I think if you want to transfer, the diff between Hunter and NYU will not mean much. If you transfer after one year, your HS grades and SATs will count more, and if after two years, your grades and the courses you took. The school name will not count much either way, imho.

I think Hunter has historically been highly regarded in social sciences in addition ot medical/science stuff.

Why go there if you’re already planning on transferring?

Hunter was the only college that was near me that I heard was any decent and that I could attend. I basically thought id buy some more time to think about what I wanted to do, and xfer from Hunter if I wanted to.
