Ya know how collegeboard does the mid-50th percentiles for SAT scores? well, if for Princeton they're like (around) 700-790 for Math and CR, how come everybody makes it sound like you need to have almost perfect scores to get in? According to these stats, at least 25% of freshman this year had less than a 700 on one, or both, sections...Is is just that only intellectuals to CC? haha...

Recruits account for a decent amount of the class, as well as those people with great hooks and decent SATs..

I don't think anyone discounts a 700 SAT score if you follow that up with some other exceptional stats. Just don't think a 2100 will get you in if you have nothing else with the application /frankness.

i agree windslicer...recruits/URMs/legacies make up a good portion of that 25%, and the other people probably had some hook (RSI, TASP, award winning yearbook/newspaper/editor-in-chief, asb president w/ amazing community service, etc)...

in my opinion, 2100 is a very sort of borderline SAT score for the top schools...if you have something like a 2200 i honestly think (in my opinion) they just write you off as far as scores go. but for a 2100...im not sure...

I had a 2220 and my guidance counselor (who was the head of Guidance at another, equally competitive high school) told me I didn't need to take them again, but that I "may want to" if I was dead-set on Princeton ED. I happen to have a GPA under-representative of my abilities however, so that may not be a universal piece of advice.

(I'm sitting happy with my 2310 now, btw. F@&king math section.)
