<p>^I wanted to say that being a “conformist” Asian is not something to be ashamed of. I’ll admit that sometimes I’ve wished I was another race, and not simply for college, but what it really comes down to what you like doing best, whether or not what you like doing best happens to be shared among a majority of others as well. I’m asian too, if you haven’t guessed already. </p>

<p>If you want example of conformity, check out society today. Sex, drugs, alcohol. They aren’t ashamed, and you shouldn’t need to either! :slight_smile: </p>

<p>Anyhow, cheer up, we’re in the same boat!</p>

<p>Yep living in Shanghai. I’ve been there for 4 years now, which is the longest I’ve ever stayed in a same country…
I’m happy to have settled down for high school it gets quite annoying to move all the time. And Shanghai is amazing. It’s really safe (I can take a cab alone at 3 am-i’m a girl- and not be worried at all) and it’s a lot of fun.
Chinese sucks though lol… it’s really hard</p>

<p>anybody else dream about Yale? I’ve had quite a few ‘nightmares’ so far… I see myself getting rejected over and over again. Sigh. Even in the light of day I’m trying to convince myself how ‘great’ my safeties are in order to prepare for Yale’s rejection. Sigh.</p>

AMSC, shanghai is absolutely amazing… i dono anything about safe but yeah it is alot of fun. the weather kinda sucks though</p>

<p>yup, i think many people have had dreams about yale…i, for one, dreamed that i got deferred/rejected. as soon as i didn’t see the blue screen with singing handsome dan, i exited out of the browser, not bothering to read the text on the screen. then i suddenly woke up. afterwards, i fell asleep again then, i dreamed i had clicked the wrong button! haha, so i click on the actual link then find out i got in! lolll</p>

<p>I just realized I have a field trip on the 16th so I’m either going to be bouncing-off-the-walls-happy or be crying all over my friends the entire time :p</p>

<p>I wouldn’t, however, dream about getting in excessively. I know that sounds pritty bad, but I think someone ran the numbers for members here on CC and about 25% of us got in last year. That means 3/4s were rejected, and I have no doubt that those who were optimistic about their chances at Yale were crushed. Indifference its prbly best here = D.</p>
