Yale 2014 EA Pledge Thread

Takes a less than an hour to follow-up on all 58 deferreds.

With gpjkoo’s post, I am revising my numbers:

Following up on deferred SCEA pledgers - revised.

Of the 58 SCEA deferreds:

3 were Accepted (congratulations to victorkangnz, chair2, and gpjkoo)
2 were Waitlisted

12 have explicitly confirmed their rejection (possibly by cursing Yale)
31 have not been explicit in announcing their rejection but indicate other acceptances
10 have not posted at all since Jan. 1

Assuming these last two categories were Rejections:

Yale SCEA Pledgers, deferred then accepted: 5.2%
Yale SCEA Pledgers, deferred then waitlisted: 3.4%
Yale SCEA Pledgers, deferred then rejected: 91.4%

Of the total number of initial pledgers, 20.6% were eventually accepted, 1.9% waitlisted, 77.5% rejected.

My D told me she is very glad this study was not done last year. She would have given up hope after being deferred :).

I’m glad your D didn’t give up, but I did do the same last year, too.

Results are remarkably similar. And just like this year, a late result caused me to re-post.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1062259576-post59.html

I was deferred, waitlisted, and then accepted!!!

For the rest of my stats:
Accepted: Brandeis, Wesleyan, JHU, Cornell, Columbia, Brown, UPenn
Waitlisted: Harvard, Yale, Princeton
Rejected: NA
Accepted off the waitlist: Yale

Dan, out of curiosity, which school had you accepted before you got off Yale’s waitlist?

@beatitudo - I had originally matriculated at Penn.
Also, just as an addendum, I was eventually rejected off of Harvard’s waitlist and accepted off of Princeton’s, but I am sticking with Yale for next year.
