Who's out there, and who's thinking of applying?

woooahhhhhhh

Wow this thread started really early!! I wonder if it will beat the 2014 thread?

raises hand

Oooh me me me.

Definitely me.

me 2. (get it? If you speak gujurati, you would have gotten it)

yessir

10char

Definitely me. Not sure if I should do EA though.

Definitely interested, not sure if I’m applying SCEA though

guys this is wayyy too early. chill out. do this at least after the regular decisions come out.

you guys have a looong 1.5 years of high school ahead if you’re already this anxious about yale. trust me.

just relax for a bit and start panicking when summer starts. you’ll save yourself a lot of worry, dread, stress, and disappointment.

I’ll apply RD.

me

i wanna apply scea so there’s less than a year before i submit my app. for the people who think we’re worrying too early, i sometimes mentally beat myself up because i’m afraid that 1 year isn’t enough to properly prepare my materials

Hai.
SCEA all the way.

I’m definitely applying SCEA. Unfortunately, Calculus has decimated my GPA, which is not looking so pretty right now. It’s the first B I’ve ever gotten, and I’m afraid that Yale is not going to like that. I mean, I got a pretty good SAT score, though.

I’m probably applying RD.

LOL 2015 already! Trust me, you do not want to start this so early… You will go crazy.

Oh, where shall I start? “368 more days…”

Oh and shoutout to fresh101 and silverturtle. Good luck guys and keep up those scores. You guys helped me get past SATI writing! :p

good luck to all of you, but just so you know, I didn’t take the SAT till May of my Junior year, and started properly worrying about colleges only as a senior.
So I’d suggest you enjoy the last few years of High School before making it as miserable as it’s for us now - and trust me, I used to think Junior year was the worst thing in the world since the weather man predicting snow in Antarctica (duh) - I was wrong. I really believe that all this college stress is unbelievably unnecessary. I will you all the best, esp. silverturtle with their brilliant mathematical tabulations and analysis I’ve seen over the years, but seriously. I tell this to juniors all the time - take a break. Worry about these things when the time comes. Next year, three days before your decision, I’ll be supporting you all the way - I promise. But for now, go out for dinner, study for finals (eek!) and enjoy the weekend (with finals? yeah, right).
And @nolagirl: I had a freshman talk to me once about a non-A on his transcript (B+? B? I forget) - can you imagine? A freshman? I didn’t even dream about college back then! Don’t worry, present yourself in the best possible light, and you’ll be absolutely fine.

Basically, 2015 hopefuls, don’t do this to yourself. Focus on school and your life; you’ll be surprised when you hear back from Yale next year and (hopefully) get in anyways.

Wish you all the best,
