Yale 2015 Hopefuls

It’s a complicated situation. PM/Facebook me if you want more details. I don’t feel comfortable posting them.

We don’t have actual ranks. We just have cum laude.

Yale SCEA all the way

I’m applying. Don’t feel like I have a good chance, but my friend is there and loves the school.

I’m also considering applying! woohoo!

Do y’all know anyone who has gotten in?

^ Outside of CC, no. :)

Another applicant here!

I actually entered my freshman year of high school knowing a Senior who was accepted to both Yale and Stanford on a full ride. She ended up choosing Stanford, but it was inspirational regardless. :]

My school sends 2-3 a year so I know a few current Yale students.

Both Stanford and Yale offer only need-based aid. The senior from your school probably had a family income under $75K.

All scholarships at Yale and Stanford are need-based.

I’ve switched schools and a girl at my previous school was accepted to (and attends)Yale.
There was a girl at my school who was accepted to Harvard, Princeton, Columbia…etc but was waitlisted/rejected at Yale. whew.

^ A senior at my school swept Ivy League + Stanford admissions this year. We had one sweep the Ivy’s last year as well.

Another applicant too.
Hopefully a future Yalie.

@silverturtle: Oops. Sorry, that phrase gets thrown around a lot where I live so I tend to use it on impulse. =p

Seriously kids, I wish you all the luck! Even if you are hesitant about apply, JUST DO IT. Trust me, I probably have the worst stats of all the Yale C/O 2014 kids here on CC, but I applied hoping against hope and I was deferred SCEA and then accepted in RD!

I’m telling this story to just about EVERYONE because I want those unconfident, hesitant kids to apply! You have a 0% chance if you don’t apply, but at least a .1% if you do try!

@rosyslips

its kinda discouraging if u say those things and then i find out u had leadership positions and stuff… do you mind posting your stats ?

anyway. I probably have the worst stats of all yale applicants this year, so we’ll see about that.

impetuous: Check my post on the Yale Class of 2014 Results thread. I did have a number of leadership positions, but in regards to GPA and even SAT scores, I was much MUCH lower than the average accepted student to Yale. But I got in! That’s really all I have to do to remind myself that Yale saw something in me that they liked. But I don’t mean to be discouraging, I mean to be encouraging! If someone like me got in, that should make all you un-perfect kids (like me!) especially hopeful!

I am going to apply to Yale hopefully by the end of this year! I am so nervous. First I have to do my A Levels and SAT I first.

Eeeep! Applying… and nervous, haha. O_o

Applying, maybe SCEA. Very nervous, with a lower end SAT (for the middle 50%) and somewhat weaker ECs.

I would do anything to get in though! Anybody know if being from Missouri gives me an advantage? lol

Going for SCEA, whoo. Good luck, everyone [=
