Yale 2015 SCEA Applicant Stats Comparison

First, I understand that stats aren't everything. An applicant must be well rounded. More goes into admission decisions than mere scores and ranks. I just felt like it would be interesting to have the following items compared... I'll call it research!

Post the following if you applied Early Action to Yale for the class of 2015:

ACT: (composite score)
-or-
SAT: (CR/M/W super-scored)
SATII: (name) (score)
SATII: (name) (score)

Class rank: (rank [or quartile] / class size)

GPA: (GPA / scale / weighted?)

ACT: 34

Class rank: School doesn't rank, but technically tied for 1/80
GPA: 4.5417 / 4.0 / weighted

Fair enough. I’ll play.

SAT: 800/780/780
SAT II: U.S. History 800
SAT II: Literature 760

Class rank: Top 2%
GPA: 4.0 / 4.0 / unweighted

SAT: 800/800/800
SATII: Math Level 2 - 800
SATII: Physics - 800

Class rank: 1/510
GPA: 4.0 unweighted

ACT: 35
SAT: 740/800/800
SATII: Math Level 2 - 800, US History - 800, Chemistry - 780, Biology E - 780, World History - 770

Class Rank: 1/311
GPA: 4.0 Unweighted.

Good luck guys!!!

4 people and I feel bad about myself already…

^Don’t even! This template doesn’t account for a lot of other factors. My ECs are definitely sub-par, so you never know.

Well this is upsetting. If my schools only does rank by deciles, and I’m in that top 10%, would the school be less likely to accept me? I can be anywhere within that top 10%. Although I’m not #1, I’m definitely not #65

Anyway, 4.0, 35 ACT, top 10%

Hope they don’t slaughter me for not having SAT’s

SAT: 750/730/790
SAT II: Chemistry 800
SAT II: French 800

Class rank: Top 2%
GPA: 5.44 / 4.0 / weighted

SAT: 800/700/790 - 2290
SAT II: Chem 790, World History 800, French 730

Rank: 6/400 (top 2%)
GPA: 3.89 UW (4.0 scale)/4.2 weighted (5.0 scale)

@tb0mb93

They won’t slaughter any applicant because they decided to submit ACT scores. If they’d do that, then why would they accept the ACT by itself in the first place?

ACT: 35
SAT: none
SAT ii: Math 2 - 800, US - 740

Rank: no rank (would be somewhere within top 5%)
GPA: 97.6/100

ACT: 34

Class rank: 6 / 328
High School GPA: 95.025/100 UW, 97.5/100 W
College GPA: 4.0/4.0

Since last year, I’ve been taking all of my classes in college, which kind of messed up my high school GPA and rank because of how my high school reports my college grades.

SAT: 780/800/800
SATII: 800 on Math IIC, Chem, Physics, Bio, and US History

Class rank: 1/200
GPA: 3.97 unweighted

This thread is designed to crush dreams.

haha I know I participated, but still.

^ :D

Actually, Yale’s admission difficulty is designed to crush dreams.

ACT: 32
Class rank: 12/401
HS GPA: 4.0 (UW)/4.277 (W)
College GPA: 4.0

fingers crossed

ACT:35
Rank: 5/169
GPA: UW(?), Weighted: 4.55
SAT II’s: 800 MIIC, 800 Chem, 750 BioM

And a bunch of big awards and such.

Wow. A lot more people with just ACT than I thought. Have you guys taken the SAT, too, and are just posting ACT because it’s higher, or just taken the ACT?

ACT: 34
SATII: Math 2 800, Chem 800

Class rank: 1/311
GPA: 4.3/4.0 weighted, 3.9/4.0 unweighted

Taking the SAT in a week because of NMS. -sigh- I thought I was done with standardized tests, too…

ACT-34
Physics/Math II C- 710
GPA-4.0

I know my SAT II scores aren’t great but my essays are super good.

@Spazzy

I took the SATI. My ACT score was just higher.
I also haven’t taken my SATIIs yet.
