@lucky No, you don’t have to report them if you don’t want to.

Another thing I want to say is that AP scores factor extremely little, if at all, in admissions decisions. One thing I never got is why the kids on CC self-study so many APs when colleges don’t care that much. I understand you can get credit at some places, but really? 10+ APs? The exact thing schools like Yale aren’t looking for is academic robots.

^Yes, but when self-studying APs is coupled with extensive involvement outside of the classroom, the positive effects are exponentially higher. This is partially my defensive side talking, but taking 10+ APs does not prove anything to admissions officers about being a robot. I will agree with you that just this on an app is quite unappealing and would probably work against the applicant.

I procrastinated too much. Haven’t written any of my essays…

Anyway, I have a question:

Do you guys think that writing about being a twin would be a cliched topic? I would imagine most of the twins applying to Yale would be writing about this as well so… Would it?

Also, are there any other twins applying to Yale SCEA? maybe someone in your social cycle? I’m curious…

^ It matters more about how you execute the topic. Writing about being a twin should be fine. I know a twin who is applying to Yale. She applied through Questbridge College Match, which is kind of SCEA. I don’t think her EFC is 0 though, so she probably can’t get matched.

^I’m so close. I’ve been done with everything for a couple weeks, but my heart is just telling me to wait a day or two more to give my essays one last edit. Submitting everything will be a relief, but knowing there’s nothing more you can do is kind of torture.

I actually have had everything finished since last week. I’m stuck waiting on our guidance counselors to distribute the ranks, which will hopefully be tomorrow. Also, do you guys know how it works with the account that we get from Yale to access our admissions decision online? Like, when do we get that? Automatically after everything is submitted, or later?

Thank you so much! That’s exactly what I was looking for. I was just confused because I changed my e-mail on the CommonApp like halfway through, and I wanted to make sure I didn’t already get the e-mail but it was stuck somewhere in limbo.

Okay so i just read the Stanford REA thread and someone came up with the genius idea of writing a bit about themselves and i thought it was really nice. It gives people a distinct personality no? And since we are all in this together…

I’ll go first.

Okay, so I LOVE reading, my favourite activities are debating and MUN and I’m really into international relations. Basketball is my favouritestest sport and in school I’m sort of known as the kid who does everything. (I’m sorry if that sounds conceited, it’s not meant to.) I’m pretty nerdy when it comes to politics related stuff. Though I’m really outgoing and do party and have a pretty active social life. I love traveling and seeing new places and things and meeting new people. I want to learn four more languages(i currently speak two and a half. lol. The half being my French). I love dogs! Oh and i talk a lot. What else? hmm. Umm, well people say I’m occasionally dominating, though my being very tall (at least for Asian standards) might have something to do with that. :)

It would be great if everyone else would do this too. I’d love to get to know you guys a bit. :D

Well, for a start, my recs are done except for the counselor’s and I’m done with my testings.

I’ve only started working on my essay (and only one of the essays as well)this week though. Don’t have any essays or any other parts of the commonapp done. I never thought my procrastination would go this far. Most likely I’ll write both my essays on like the 29th of October and send everything in the day after :)

But hey, this is what I’ve been doing for the past 17 years. Can’t change myself :)
