Yale 2016 SCEA Discussion Thread

The more it gets closer to the 15th the less confident I become. I’ve been trying to put everything into perspective so I won’t be too crushed, but I can’t even imagine the feeling of being accepted!

I got a fortune today that said that my doubts will be laid to rest early this month. I got pretty excited until my friend joked it could be talking about rejection too. Thinking about it now, it could also just mean I will get deferred as I have been telling myself. Stupid fortune cookie…

Yeah… honestly, the Harvard thread has over 40 pages.
We need to get a move on this.

How are you guys whiling away time?

I got a request for an interview today for scea, it cant actually factor into my decision this late right?

well I guess if they sent you a request, it may mean that they’re on the fence and want more information? I have no idea haha

^ Either the admissions office made a special request for a second interview, or your interviewer was just lazy and didn’t bother to contact you until now.

Or they thought you were a RD applicant by mistake?

Just curious–has anyone heard via QuestBridge? I think that those decisions were supposed to come out today.

^ Two kids on the questbridge forum report acceptance to the Yale class of 2016, and I personally know someone who was rejected through questbridge.

I personally know two people who were rejected through Questbridge. :(

T-14 days… Eep.

13 days***

There must be some way to know sooner!

visit your local psychic ;)

@sigatots- the scea acceptance rate is about 1/6. I roll virtual die :stuck_out_tongue: …and keep re-rolling until I get the number I want!

Lol I actually did. She says I’ll get into H and Stanford as well. Woot. Haha.

I actually can’t wait! So if (god willing) we all get in, are you going to apply to other schools?

Well I already sent in all my applications so yes I am applying to other colleges. Although I’m pretty sure I’d go to Yale even if I got into harvard or Stanford… Just a personal preference

Yeah, me too… Through this waiting period I’ve really grown attached to Yale.

So can someone explain this QuestBridge thing to me and why participating applicants seem to have their results already? I Googled the website and it appears to be a need-based scholarship program…?

its for extremely low income families (<$60,000 i believe) who have an opportunity to apply outside the regular admissions system if they show certain academic qualifications
