Yale 2016 SCEA Discussion Thread

While I have no proof, it’s been rumored that Yale requests first-quarter grades/other info for those on the fence between deferral/acceptance. Of course, this may also be the case between rejection/deferral, but I personally don’t see why they would go to such lengths unless they were considering an applicant for admittance.

In short, take it as a good omen, regardless of how meaningful/meaningless it actually is.

EDIT: Aaaaaand two posts have already stated what I’ve said by the time I’ve posted it. Meh.

I was hoping that’s what it was, but I don’t want to be too excited if they decide to defer… :frowning:
I’m just super nervous is all. But thank you for confirming what the little voice inside of me wanted to say. I have more hope now :)

@lolToasty, you have have my envy.

I hope your envy helps me in this one, sfaitht7. I’ll be sure to fill you guys in on what happens when I get my decision. Thank you for giving me more hope :)

honestly just checked my email to see if any of my teachers emailed me to tell me yale contacted them as well. pretty pathetic of me, I know! no such luck ):

^^I did the exact same thing.

Waiting for these decisions has made me pitiful :P

You don’t know how surprised I was when my teacher got contacted. I was hoping they told her of my status. I’m a dork lol

When did your teacher get contacted? One of my teachers is out of town until the end of the year (since like last week). I hope they didn’t try contacting her.

They contacted my teacher today but she said she got a voicemail and didn’t answer (I guess she wasn’t home or something). I’m hoping she calls back… lol

So it looks like Yale is still finalizing decisions. ><

Wait, shouldn’t they have made the decisions last thursday or so, because they hand over the accepted students to the financial aid office for about a week?

^ This is a good point

If they’re requesting info at this date, I can come up with two options:

1) They’re having an incredibly difficult time deciding on a few cases

2) The financial aid office requested information for some reason or another

But, hey, who knows?

You can never know with Yale…

Two days…

Has anyone else noticed the dearth of Yale acceptance youtube videos? The only Yale ones are of rejections that I have found haha. Anyways, I finally found one in the middle of this documentary on Asian students applying to ivy leagues (youtube Ivy Dreams 9/10 Admission Decisions at 6 mins). It comes complete with the blue screen and bulldog chant!

I hope we are all able to hear that beautiful song come Thursday!

Halfway through posting this I glanced at the time and noticed its Tuesday on the East Coast and was wondering where classicgirll was. Then I posted haha.

I don’t want to see a video with that acceptance intro thing because then fantasizing about getting in will become that much easier :/

haha
Have no fear,
I’ll always be near

@youwrotethis, haha that’s what I was thinking as well. I kind of regret reading ender’s description of the acceptance letter. Ignorance is bliss.

Blah how are you guys getting through the final stretch? I’m trying to tame the part that keeps hoping for acceptance and trying to come to terms with deferral/rejection (though I guess I’ve been trying to do that for the past 6 weeks). And I have an orchestra field trip tomorrow so that’ll help get my mind off things haha
