Any international applicants? Can’t wait for the decisions - even if it’s rejections. And anyone knows if not getting interviews can negatively affect the decisions? I feel like there’re more positive things applicants get if they went to interviews rather than not.
@maxinelime I’m here! I really feel like March 30 is going to be for me like the Hunger Games version where both Peeta and Katniss eat the berries at the end. Interviews don’t count as much as internationals think they do, they’re aimed at us so that we can learn more about the school (as people apply for 20+ schools nowadays, it’s tough to research properly. Plus, internationals can’t even visit or have pamphlets sent home etc. etc.)
@Theoddorre Ha! So true…
Similar thing happened to me. Yale alumni contacted me for an interview for March 22 which seemed extremely late in my perspective but later the interviewer sent me an email saying that Yale requested it be done sooner. So now my interview is March 15th very close to march 30. Could this mean anything ?
@Ismaryj Doubtful. Don’t read too much into it. It’s likely that they just want to make sure that your interview isn’t wasted, since it seems to me that if you do an interview on the 22nd that they’ll have already finalized decisions already and your interview won’t be seen by the adcoms. This way, it’ll at least make its way to your file.
@masquerade98 yeah but Yale requested it be done sooner so now its on March 15 which seems like enough time to get it to adcoms no? Thanks for the insight btw
@Ismaryj That’s what I’m saying. They don’t want your interview to be wasted and so they’re asking that it be moved forward so that it’ll actually make an impact. Good luck with it, by the way!
Thanks!
@Ismaryj Hey, good luck on your interview! Are you an international applicnat? If so could you please tell me which country you’re from?
@Theoddorre So true! Can’t agree more with it. It makes me so anxious to know the decision. Like, a little bit rejection of knowing the truth but also desire of the final notification!
@studioghibli i live in NY USA on long-island so im sure there were plenty of interviewers in my area so i thought it ment something that it’s so late in the process.
Is there a deferred applicants thread
Does any body know at what hour will decision will be revealed?
@QueenZi 5pm EST
@emli8100 I think the scea pile just moved onto the RD ^^
I have my interview today with yale and im wondering if i should ask why my interview was done so late. Should i? Or would it be rude
@Ismaryj Personally I wouldn’t ask, but if you can find a way to word it really nicely then I don’t think it would be the end of the world. Most likely is that they are struggling to find interviewers - don’t read too much into it
I don’t think it’s worth asking. They may volunteer the info. There’s roughly a million similar threads where people have posted their interviewer’s answers which you can see on the ivy forums (which all seem to be positive! ) so don’t stress it.
Interview went fine and i didnt ask lol
@Ismaryj glad to hear it ^^
