Yale 2022 Applicants Discussion

At the barricade of freedom (from anxiously waiting) @ambeeywlo

has anyone else had their IDOC requested by Yale?

@musicandscience Shall I join my brothers there (at Yale?)

I think everyone had Yale’s request from the beginning

@filipiyes gotcha ty :slight_smile:
@ambeeywlo I’m laughing sm rn

@filipiyes I also got a Financial aid email. I emailed them back asking what I was missing because I thought I turned everything in, and a lady replied to me saying I was good to go.

Edit: Checking back, they actually sent me two emails saying I hadn’t turned everything in haha oops

oh my yale

Is not receiving a financial aid email a bad sign?

No I think you only get a financial aid email if you were missing supplemental materials :slight_smile: @StressedTeen2018

@musicandscience
Bless your soul

blessing accepted. and reciprocated. We all need it rn lmao @StressedTeen2018

Are you guys opening decisions alone or with family/friends?

@LondonVall Alone

It’s gonna be 2 am here, so yeah all alone.

alooonee I don’t need extra stress

Does anyone else feel like the hardest part of this is not your own reaction, but the opinions of others? Like I’ll be crushed if I am rejected but I’m honestly more worried about what my friends, family, and teachers will think. So many people know that Yale is my dream school and I’m so worried that I’ll disappoint them :((

alone. and @MyDogsNameIsFat it depends… my family doesn’t get how hard admissions is but it’ll be fine, my teachers get it, and my friends are all experiencing it with me, so I’m not too worried. Who cares what they think? You know how selective it is, just be happy you put your best foot (or paw :slight_smile: I love that dog) forward.

Just to be clear, as many have posted in the Princeton 2022 RD thread already, there is ABSOLUTELY NO correlation between receiving an FA email and being admitted. If you look back to last year’s applicants, many of those who received an email were later waitlist/rejected. This shouldn’t be a surprise considering at most top universities, including Yale, the FA and admissions have separate departments. Don’t speculate who did/didn’t get in over it, you’ll find out tomorrow! Best of luck all! :slight_smile:

Yea, I feel that @MyDogsNameIsFat I’ve told people for years I’ve wanted to go to Columbia and it’s even the background on my phone, so I don’t wanna let everyone down.

Does anyone know anyone that has gotten into Yale or any other ivies with NO hooks and not top 10%, but more like top 12% or around there? It’s not that I had bad grades, but was not put into H classes freshman year (they choose who), but obviously I took them sophomore-senior. idk…they’ve only accepted 2 people from my school in the past 5 years. They both had about 4.5s and they were hooked. Rip…they did defer someone with a low 4 though (at least it wasn’t a straight rejection??)

We don’t rank, but I’m sure they can tell
