Honesly, the thing I’ll be most heartbroken about after receiving my Yale rejection is that I LOVE my “What inspires you?” answer. I hate when good answers go to waste, haha
@Ashtash same. I spilled my heart out to MIT and all they gave me in return was a 4 sentence rejection letter :(( :((
@LondonVall Dang, their rejection letter is only 4 sentences? That’s brutal
okay guys, I think it’s best if we stop envisioning/talking about rejections, trying to get hints, freaking out over FA things. It’s good that we all recognize the possibility of receiving a rejection tomorrow, but there is really nothing we can do anymore. For those of you who were rejected/waitlisted at other schools, keep moving forward I’m positive you will end up at an amazing institution. That institution may or may not be one of the schools we hear back from tmr. Who knows?
I guess what I want to get at is…it really doesn’t matter what our parents, friends, teachers think of us. We know we tried our best and that is all that matters. Of course, this is easier said than done since that has also been on my mind lately despite my efforts of ignoring it. Just go into tmr as calm as you can be. There is so much more to life than this. Even if you don’t end up attending your “dream school”, you WILL find your home elsewhere.
Anyways, I’m cheering for every single one of you! I’ve been following this thread for such a long time, so I know that all of you are so, so talented and awesome. Don’t let whatever happens tmr make you think otherwise.
yeah @LondonVall MIT did me dirty. I even applied EA got deffered then rejected, just to give me a trash reject letter
“A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri just came on the radio and I thought it was funny how fitting (albeit overdramatic) the lyrics are. Give it a listen if you’re looking for something to do!
@Inxight haha Notre Dame and Northeastern did that to me…I would’ve rather just been rejected in December instead of waiting that whole time and then getting denied
Hey, my brother just realized he never got an email to make a portal for Yale and isn’t sure what to do about it this late. He knows his app went through because he had his interview and everything. He is planning to call the admissions people tomorrow to ask them about this, but I was just wondering if anyone else had the same / a similar problem. Thanks!
@Ivy2000 I’m gonna have “The Climb” on repeat tomorrow
My college decision playlist is definitely The Greatest Showman soundtrack. “A Million Dreams” perfectly describes the hopes that we have for college, with “a million dreams keeping me awake” while imagining how I will spend my next four years. “This Is Me” is going to be the song that I play for accepting that maybe I wasn’t fit for Yale but also realizing my own worth. Highly suggest that you guys check out that soundtrack, it’s a work of art. “Never Enough” is beautiful too plus Hugh Jackman =P~
@writergirl0316 Nobody like Miley to convince you that it’ll all be alright.
I’ve been rewatching gossip girl and i’m on the episode where blair gets rejected from yale…gonna be me tmrw lol
Omg who remembers the episode of Suite Life on Deck where Cody didn’t get accepted to Yale but Bailey did
“Breathe” from In the Heights is also great for tomorrow!
I cant imagine it is that much of a problem. Just call them tomorrow or email them. Their phone lines will probably be kind of jammed, so maybe give a call next week if you can wait.
Good luck to all with the Yale applications! What a great school!
@Ashtash If you don’t mind me asking, what was your response?
@anxiouswreck ok but Cody also got into Brown and Princeton if i remember correctly. sooo… one can only hope :-((
I know this may sound kinda dumb, but I feel so unaccomplished and overwhelmed because whenever I get on the Yale Class of 2022 Facebook page everyone seems so incredibly talented… OMG the imposter syndrome is already starting to kick in! :((
One of my close friends only applied to a few Ivies this year. And I do mean only the Ivies. Like no safeties at all. And that honestly terrifies me. He really took the phrase “Ivy or bust” to heart…
