I saw on CC (I’ve just made an account but have been reading these threads for a few months btw) that Yale has sent out some RD likely letters to strong STEM applicants. I was wondering if they only send them in one batch, and are done for this year, or might send more later in February. Thanks for any help!
I really want to know the answer to this question too!!!
They tend to stop tricking out over the next week or so. The last likely I read about last year was February 9th.
Also note that if you don’t get a likely letter, don’t be discouraged!! Most STEM applicants get in without a likely letter, and the absence of a likely says nothing about your chances of admission at other schools. Likelies go to the kids who already have major indications that they’ll get into top schools, like RSI, Siemens, STS, etc.
I was a Regeneron STS Scholar (semifinlist), 3x ISEF finalist, published research as sole author, and no likely letter :((

I guess I’m getting my hopes way to high up. I just hate the thought of having to wait till the end of March.
The number of likely letters that go to non-athletes is small, and the subset of those that actually post on College Confidential is smaller still. Be advised that the vast majority of accepted students will not receive a Likely Letter.
The waiting is hard, I know, but you’re better off finding something more productive to do with your time than refreshing your email on the hopes that a Likely Letter shows up or by posting the same question in every forum.
Does anyone know if any more likelies are coming?
Lol just chill out and wait until march
i got a stem likely letter in the mail today
I just got my letter in the mail today
@bookluver04 Was it regular mail or a big FedEx package? Just curious, not expecting one LOL
I also just got my likely letter in the mail today! It came in a regular sized envelope
congrats guys. Looks like I won’t get one, but still have hopes up for an acceptance on March 28th.
@bigchoices2018 It was bigger than a normal envelope. Big enough to hold an 8.5 *11 paper without folding it.
where do you guys that got a letter live? I.e. close or far from Yale? Does anyone know if that even effects how long it takes to arrive?
I live about 2 hours or so from Yale.
@applicant1313 I’m from CT and I got my letter relatively early, but I don’t think distance really has an impact. My friend from CA was one of the first ones to get notified
I got it on the 6th, from NY. Also, the letter’s aren’t exclusively sent to STEM applicants, I applied as a political science major
Thank you guys.
