Yale 2023 Applicants Discussion

Caligurl4 this is what you posted on the Villanova thread “Accepted. SAT -1450, GPA - 4.2 (w)”. You also claim to be a freshman at Columbia and living in a basement at Princeton.

All within your first five hours of having set up an account. What’s up with that?

I also got in SCEA and never had an interview. A Yale alum reached out to me after I got in, since I never had any interaction with the university people. He told me that the reason I never got an interview was because the Admissions Office didn’t need more information from me, not because they didn’t have enough interviewers (my region has plenty). During the application process, I was so worried because I was never contacted by Yale, but don’t worry about it! Not having an interview can be a good thing too :slight_smile:

Does Yale give out likely letters?

Yes. But my standard disclaimer applies: the vast majority of accepted students willnot get a LL. So don’t refresh your email every 2 seconds looking for one.

to those admitted, has anyone received their class of 2023 T-shirts?

@wootman123 nope

Heard Yale sent out likely letters today? Can anyone confirm?

I accidentally updated the Yale Portal twice with the same ACT Score. Is this a big deal, or do I need to contact someone?

@MangoLover11223 , I wouldn’t worry about that.

@bronze267 Thank you for your post! It helps me feel more hopeful.

Hi everyone! I’ve been ghosting this thread for a long time. I even ghosted and read all the other Yale discussion threads from the past year. I’m really sorry to all who got rejected. Reading this, I was literally shaking and hyperventilating. I was so nervous for you guys and I wasn’t even the one who applied! I expect to get rejected too so to you guys and to my future self: where you go to school doesn’t determine success. As cheesy as it sounds. The only person who makes and determines your success it yourself. Deferred students that’s still a CONGRATS! You were given a second chance and that’s actually a compliment! Yale saw something in you guys that pushed you onto the next round! I’m praying for you guys and hope you make it RD! As for those who got accepted, CONGRATULATIONS! YALIES OF 2023 BOOLA BOOLA BOOLA!!! You deserve it after all your hard work! Hopefully, you guys commit! :smiley: :smiley: :smiley:

LOL, I was debating on it but eventually decided to comment on here since this will literally be me next year. Yale has (unfortunately) become my dream school. Promised myself I wouldn’t get a dream school but somehow after going to a Yale information session in my area and researching more about the school on my own, I unexpectedly fell in love with it. Currently, a junior hoping to apply EA next year for the class of 2024!

@game7214 Where did you hear this?

I finally got a Yale interview invitation! And only a couple of hours after finishing my interview for Yale-NUS…I wonder if there is any correlation. Likely not, but it’s a weird coincidence.

Kiddo just got an interview invitation, so they’re still going out.

Just got a call that I’ll be receiving a likely letter soon! I can’t believe it, I’m literally crying

@MaybeYale2023 Congratulations!!! When did you submit your Yale RD application? Do you mind sharing your profile?

@MaybeYale2023, congrats! Would you please share your stats?

@MaybeYale2023 OMG That’s amazing congrats! STATS are important yeah but you should also share what you wrote for the Yale Supplements and Short takes and what your common app Essay was about! Because I’m sure that must’ve played a big role in your L.L :smiley:
