The local alumni chapter is a different organization then the interviewers. The interviewers are an AO organization. The local alumni chapter is part of the Yale Alumni Association. Volunteers are asked if we are willing to do phone or Skype-type interviews in addition to in person interviews. I suspect your interviewer was asked to interview your daughter because they did not have enough interviewers locally for the SCEA round. I would not read anything into this, positive or negative.

The first read is done geographically, with geographical areas adjusted so that the first readers have relatively equal loads. So for the first cut, you will be compared against applicants in your region.
Thanks! we are from west coast and applied early action. Done with alumni interview. Son thought it went well. But of course from what I am reading here it doesn’t matter
@pathtotruth geography def plays a role in admissions. colleges love to brag that they accept students from all 50 states and x amount of countries. and if you’re from a densely populated coast (ie. east or west) then admissions is a lot more competitive than kansas for example

Has anyone else applied to the BA/MM program? I am wondering if I will still receive my early action decision even though I will not have gotten my pre-screening results yet.
