Yale Admissions Today??

.... on this site someone mentioned people hear today or is it the 12th?

good luck to everyone!

despite what others and the admissions officers have said ("mailed by the end of this week" in the case of the latter), i think it's entirely possible. the last two cycles have also set precedent for the second monday in may. the admissions office closure tomorrow also suggests that decisions have already been made, if not mailed. it also seems unlikely that that the officers would deliberate after the staff retreat...

this is all conjecture, of course. also note that last year one person received his decision on the same day it was mailed (the preceding friday) -- no such incidence this cycle...

in any case, we'll find out within 3-4 hours, when mailtime rolls around in the Northeast.

does Yale not notify via e-mail like some other colleges?

it does not

Has anyone received Yale decisions yet?

Has anyone in the northeast received their mail but NOT a decision?

Edit: Has anyone who APPLIED...

So... I see that my speculations have stirred up some excitement at last.

i just got off the phone with the admissions office, and they said they'd be sent off some time this week... meaning today?

To respond to the brilliant, articulate and breathtakingly handsome poster above: I received my mail but no decision.

Does anyone know whether Yale sends decisions to our home or school addresses?

usuallylurking: what d'u mean u received ur mail but no decision? what mail?

bumpity: I think he meant that he received his mail today but that a decision from Yale was not included with today's mail. I'm in the same boat. I live 45 min from New Haven and my parents received today's mail but not a decision from yale. I think most of us will receive decisions tomorrow.

Well, I tried but apparently my gamma waves are not pervasive enough. Maybe everyone at Yale's admissions office is wearing a helmet. I have to be honest though; I mostly tried for my decision.

:)

Are we sure they were mailed out today?
I called a minute ago, and they said "They will be mailed this week"

Now, it COULD mean today, but perhaps the Staff Retreat is to finalize plans, and it'll be sent out in the middle of this week? Or... who knows?

We have no way of knowing, but I guess we'll find out tomorrow....

Alright. Since I don't care if I get my decision in the mail, over the phone, or brough by a blue bulldog, can I just call them up on Friday? I see no point in waiting through the weekend. Does anyone know if Yale would release decisions over the phone?

from what i gather, you would need some reason, other than impatience, to expedite the decision... like a "forced transfer," or something

No, no, no... No expediting. Just getting it over the phone after it's been sent.

oh, i see your point. who knows.

so no decisions today after all. i guess we are about a week away from getting them, then.
