Yale and Sciences/Technology

If science/engineering quality is a matter of great research opportunities there should be absolutely no complaints about Yale.

According to USNWR, Yale ranks at least the same if not higher than Penn, Dartmouth and Brown in each of the core science fields of Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and draws even with Cornell and Columbia in those fields on a crude “win-some, lose-some” basis. Yet those schools do not have a special interest to recruit prospective science majors, as far as Google shows.

Why is that?

Because this is Yale and not those other places? Every institution has different priorities and thus they have different plans on achieving their goals.

Because Yale’s main competitors are Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, and MIT. I hope that doesn’t sound elitist to you, because that’s not my intention; it is true though that Yale does not lose many admits to the schools you mentioned, at least in comparison to those 4.
