^that is so dumb! btw, what is the total cost of attending Cornell for you, without FA? I want to apply next year.

really sucks that cornell would let you down like that. i hope to get into cornell as well, but i hope that if i get accepted they’d give me some FA.

and btw, is it really hard to get into Cornell if you apply for FA as a Canadian?

when cornell and over ivies say they are “need-blind”, they mean that they dont look at ur finances when making a decision whether to admit you.

BUT

when they put together ur FA package, the FA ppl have input from the admissions counsellor. So, if they really want someone, they would give FULL support of FA. if they dont really want someone but admitted him/her anyways, they wont give that much FA, if any at all.
So, how much FA u get depends partly if not mostly on how much the school/admissions counsel wants u rather than what ur need is.

this is precisely y i got 32 000 aid from columbia while getting just around 20 000 for cornell and penn.

^thatguy100: lol I got in HYP and Columbia, but was rejected by Penn, Dartmouth, and nearly everywhere else. It goes to show ivy admissions is truly a crapshot =p

I got into Yale. It was the only US school I applied to (and it’s my dream school). My stats are in the Yale 2014 RD thread.

Funny thing is that I was so sure that I wouldn’t get in I already had my mind set on McMaster. I also got accepted to U of T Trinity college this week and I was expecting my package in the mail on Thursday so that I wouldn’t be as sad if I got rejected from Yale. It didn’t come yet, but I didn’t need it after all lol.
