I submitted my Yale app at 9:00pm on west coast time (I know I had to get it in by 12:00am east coats time) and commonapp says I submitted it on 1/1/2008. Am I already rejected?

Hmm…good question. They may allow it, but I’m not sure. Try to contact an admissions counselor at Yale regarding the matter, they should be able to give you better insight (and may even help you out.) Hope things go right-it’d be terrible if they didn’t!

anyone else had situations similar to mine?

As far as I know, the 1/1/2009 due date means that you need to turn the apps in before 11:59PM EST 1/1/2009, so I think you are fine.

I think it’s extended until 1/3/09 (in case of technical difficulties) so I think you’re all fine.

Im fairly sure it’s what vestige said, by 11:59 ON 1/1, so you’re actually early.

sorry, this question comes from the department of redundacy department

so apps can be turned in anytime during the due date, i.e. 7:23 PM on 1/2 if it its due on 1/2

i applied at 9:00 EST and it said 1/1 too… i wouldn’t worry about it. it happened to me with my BC application. they might just put the date after you hit submit? when i applied EA and was definitely on time it said 11/2. apparently its just to strike fear in the hearts of many children.

Yale’s due date was 12/31

Although there was some word about a deadline extension, not sure if it’s true or not as I could not find it without having to click on a specific link
