I applied to Yale via CommonApp during their RD round, and according to CommonApp, my application was successfully submitted. My credit card was charged the application fee, CommonApp sent me the customary confirmation emails, etc. However, I didn’t receive a confirmation from Yale itself. At first I decided to wait, but after the customary 3 days passed, I started to grow concerned. I have not received a login for their application portal or anything of the sort. The one piece of confirmation I’ve received from Yale directly was an email regarding the immigration ban that started off with, “Thank you for applying to Yale…”
I’ve tried calling them multiple times over the course of January, and have sent 2 emails as well. The message always reads back saying that their voicemail box is either full or not setup. My counselor tried the same methods on her end, but was unable to contact the admissions office as well. The one outlet we’ve been able to reach is the financial aid office, but, unfortunately, they were unable to help with the situation.
Does anyone have any suggestions on the best course of action? Obviously, I would prefer to hear that I am in fact being considered (regardless of whether or not I get accepted or rejected), but if I’m not going to be considered, I would at the very least like a refund for the application fee. I know that might sound petty, but I’m not rich enough to just throw $80 without any hope of a positive result.
Yep, around 6 times spread out over the course of 2 weeks. Nobody picked up and their voicemail box is full. My counselor tried to do the same @greenteen17
That’s extremely odd. I haven’t personally called Yale’s admissions office, but I have called other similar schools and they always answered during regular business hours. I looked up their office for you; I see they close at 4:30. Did you call after that?
Hey there, I just emailed Yale’s admissions office a link to this thread. Hopefully they will find a way to be more accessible and solve it! Good luck!
