Does anyone know if Yale recruits for their equestrian team? Also, is the crew team or track more competitive for recruitment? I'm interested in both, but only have time for one.

Well by now the coach of the rowing team has narrowed down his list of athletes to about 15 guys which he will get his 8 out of but I don’t know but about track recruitment.

Read this recent story to see how recruiting slots are parceled out, and which sports are favored.

The equestrian team is a club sport, hence no recruiting. I don’t know about the differences between crew and track recruiting.

Thanks, I’m a sophomore right now, when should I contact one of the coaches?

Just to let you know rowing at the ivies is division 1 and highly competitive as with all of their sports. To play a sport at these schools you essentially have to be the best player on your team and one of the top in the state. Rowing is extremely difficult considering the fact that very few kids can even be on the team. And remember ivies don’t give athletic scholarships.

@cottonmather, interesting article, thanks for posting it!
