Hi All,

I'm looking for a bit of advice for college choice.

My choices are listed above. The costs would approximately be the same. Cornell would be around ~8k cheaper due to a scholarship.

I'm currently thinking of majoring in computer science, so it seems like CMU would be a good choice seeing as it has one of the best CS programs in the country. I'm not decided for sure and going to CMU would essentially limit my options to only CS. I would definitely want to pursue the sciences though.

Right now I'm mostly looking at Yale, but I've heard that the engineering and sciences programs there aren't that big in general and are pretty lowly ranked. Cornell is known for having good engineering, but overall as a school it seems to be a bit worse than Yale (doesn't really matter if I'm going into CS). Brown is great as well, and I like their choose your own courses program, but it doesn't really set itself apart in any other way.

Ideally I would've wanted to go to MIT/Stanford, but c'est la vie. I'm thinking that I could always give transfer a shot, but that wouldn't really be ideal.

Any advice? CS/Engineering majors who have been to either of these schools?
