Your EC’s, GPA and Test Scores are really good and I think you have a good chance in Duke, UChicago and UNC Chapel Hill. Yale SCEA and Brown might be a bit difficult but I think you have a chance.

Thanks for the help guys. Can you tell me which parts are lacking that can help me get into Yale. I’m kind of in love with the school after my summer visit.

I think Yale wants to have more STEM people. (<- Impression that I got from their info session.) So, your intended major, Biochemistry, might help your chances.
I don’t think Yale SCEA will enhance your chances very much. Most likely, you will be deferred.
If I were you, I will apply to EA schools such as Chicago, MIT and Cal Tech.

You do not have national level award (your weakness I guess) but you are a strong applicant. (Your SAT could be better though.)

Good luck to you.

Your chance will be a lot better if you are a STEM oriented female wrestler!!!

haha unfortunately I am not a female wrestler, but thank you so much for the input. Hopefully I’ll get somewhere with my research nationally. Can I get any other opinions on how to choose which schools to apply early action?

I agree with the previous poster that you should apply EA to as many schools as you can and that you’re interested in - namely, UChicago, MIT, and CalTech. Georgetown also has EA, if you’re so inclined. Now, you have great scores and your ECs are alright, but I feel compelled to warn you that I know a lot of people who applied to UChicago “just to apply” and got rejected. If your essays aren’t somehow intriguing and show enthusiasm for the school and for the “life of the mind,” they won’t take you.

(Note my bias. I was admitted to U of C EA and pulled all my other applications, but not before I got a likely letter from Stanford and another from Cornell. It was my unequivocal first choice, lol.)

Don’t give up hope on Yale. Top-tier school admissions can be very unpredictable, and you definitely have a chance. Your EC’s definitely set you aside from lots of other applicants who are the president of 80 different clubs that are irrelevant to what they are passionate about. You’re EC’s seem like they are relevant to your interests. Good luck!
