Yale called me today for my SAT grades... a day before decisions

So, yeah.. they called - the girl was really nice.. she even reminded me to check my status tomorrow... and I thanked for making me more nervous... she laughed and told me "well, what's done is done"...
Is it good/bad that they're still asking for my official sat scores?

Idk, I can only see them needing it if you were waitlisted. If they have already made one of the more absolute decisions, ie rejected/accepted they would not need it. It also could mean that you are accepted and they need to verify you did not lie. I do not think it is a bad thing.

<< It also could mean that you are accepted and they need to verify you did not lie. >>

Right. They suspect the guy lied in writing, but are happy to accept his word on the phone. That makes sense.

Perhaps they asked for a fax.

Actually, they asked my college counselor to send the scores by email.. they then told my counselor to tell me to not worry about the phone call; but I still called just to check everything was ok.

In that case, I think you'll hear good news tomorrow :-)

JoeBobHalley, i figured that Yale wanted the official transcript, not his reaffirmation.

My guess is that the Committee decided to admit you subject to your boards being confirmed as within a specified parameter. Best of luck.

thanks eli and chinchilla.. I'll hope for the best... like the lady I spoke to said.. "What's done is done" and regardless of what happens I know it's for the best.
Best of luck to all that are waiting for the big news..
tomorrow, I'll see whether my life changes completely. I hope it does, and for the better.

that exact same thing happened to me when I applied early. On the monday of the week decisions were released, I received an email from my admissions officer saying that they needed my gc to fax them a copy of my official scores. At first, I freaked out, but then realized that it must be a good thing if they still cared about my scores 4 days before they released decisions. Sure enough, that thursday I was accepted. hopefully the same will happen to you
