You have a good chance. Stats are great - enough to get you in the running. I think your activities and interests stand out as being somewhat unique. Now, it all depends on how you present yourself on the application - important to focus on the essay, recs, and if you want to go the extra step, send in supplementary materials (i.e. poetry) or a stellar outside recommendation.

I'd say your application is great. I disagree about sending in poetry. It would look pretty egocentric to think that they'd take the time out to go over your material. Your application should speak for itself and your creativity should come through in your essays. I had a friend who submitted supplimentary materials and it did him little good. Your award will speak for the poetry. You could get a third recommendation from someone in the poetry society. Find a way to get mention of your book into the application. They like published authors a lot. Good luck.

bump............

I like it.

As for the poetry: If you got an award for it, I'd send it in, assuming it's not twenty pages long or something equally riddiculous.

Personal question: what kind of riding?

the riding I did involved jumping obstacles and cantering (riding very fast in other words) in the British style.

As for the poetry, do you think that Yale (or any Ivy for that matter) would respect my published book even knowing that I wrote it when I was 10?

Riding: Ah, OK. Cross-country, then? My parents ride (dressage and cross-country), and I'm a vaulter, so I know a little bit about the different riding styles.

Poetry: I dunno, depends on how good the poetry is. Post it, perhaps?

It's in hebrew lol

I was living in Israel at the time.
Is the fact that it is written in hebrew a set back?
Will the college find a hebrew speaker to analyze it for them?
(ie. tell them wether it's good or not).
