Yale chances?

I feel sort of inimidated by all the really amazing resumes of other students here, but I have to ask what my chances are for Yale, my absolute dream school.
The thing I'm most worried about is the number of AP's.
My school doesn't offer too many, and the class schedules just don't work to fit in 10 AP's like many people seem to be doing.
My high school is definitely academically more rigorous than most schools (public schools..)

I think that's basically all I can think of now...
What do you think?
Welcoming any opinions!!!
Thanks!

A lot of students have a similar GPA to yours, have stronger ECs and aren’t ORMs. If you don’t get great scores, it will be a very big reach.

Your profile is great, but I couldn’t find any distinct passion which makes one stand out in the applicant pool. . .

O.K EC’s.

Grades are pretty average for ivies. The fact that your asian also pulls you down. Colleges may just see you as a typical asian reaching for a prestigious school.

what is ORM?

I feel like I am a passionate person – my passion lies in arts and music.
I can see why the list would come off as not…
How can I wrap it up to show that I am?
I also always thought I differentiate myself as more of an artsy person unlike the cookie cutter math/sci Asian geeks.

I have the same problem about the APs, but most of the colleges that I’ve visited say that they take you in-context of your environment.

You should definitely work on writing a kick-butt essay showing off your passion if you want to get into Yale, because your other stats seem pretty average.

you are clearly talented in music & art so pursue those interests to a greater extent. how can you bring those interests into volunteering? etc. good luck… you’re on the right track, but going forth.

You don’t need to show that you are passionate for something. Just do what you want to do; just follow your heart - if you have true passions, Adcoms will see it…

One who is passionate about chess and hasn’t played even any state-level, nor organised any tournament nor any significant stuff, doen’t show passion. No matter he says thousand times in his application that “I am the most passionate person (in chess world) your college has ever seen”.

You get it?

i dont think just because one has won a state-level chess tournament or organized an event shows that you are passionate about chess…

winning awards in general doesnt necessarily show that you have passion for that area.

@jbubbles - that was an example… there are innumerous ways of showing passion…

by the way it seems that you are replying only in those forums where i have posted something and it appears as if you are following me… lol

correct me if i am wrong

lol no, not at all. i post all over if you havent noticed

ok… it feels good to know that someone is FOLLOWING me but by saying the truth you broke my heart… lol

lmao too

HAHA aw im sorry :P

in that case, yeah i do follow ya. you fascinate me haha
