Also, words of wisdom I wish somebody had told me: do NOT open your decision while standing on the lower bed of your bunk bed and hanging off the upper one. Needless to say, I nearly fell over and died stupid
But now on a more serious note - chill if you cannot log on at 5. because you won’t be able to, really. And then the whole system gets messed up and then it might happen that the decision randomly jumps at you out of nowhere, and that can be quite unpleasant either way (like my “aaaaagh fall off the bed” story). So you might want to consider just taking it easy and check at 8 or whenever (unless you’re also from Central Europe, then it’s late at night and that sucks).
EITHER WAY: good luck and keep it in perspective!

Yes. Perspective. I’ve totally got that down.

Is it only me or is this what happens when you try to log on to eli…
The Yale Application Status website has been shut down for the 2011-2012 admissions season. Students who wish to retrieve their admissions decision online may to go [Home | Yale College Admissions](Home | Yale College Undergraduate Admissions) on the evening of Thursday, March 29th. In order to retrieve your decision, you will need the same Eli account ID and password that you used to reach this page.

Nope, I get “The Yale Application Status website is unavailable until 12am EST 12/15/12.” … which doesn’t make sense either.

So are we still getting it today at 5pm? …

The Yale Admissions page still says “Early Action applicants to the Class of 2017: Decisions will be available on our website the evening of Friday, December 14”, so I think so…

Well this just threw a wrench into my no-stress evening

Well we should (hopefully!), 12am has already gone by…

Hah well, crashing the notoriously crushable Yale website is kind of a rite of passage I expect.
ChickenLadder, 12AM on the 15th!!

Early Action Decisions will be released tomorrow afternoon via Eli Accounts!

If only we could send out our decisions by owl. For now, the USPS eagle will have to do.

That was 14 hours ago, I can’t think of any reasons for a sudden shift of plans…they’re toying with us!

There’s still no change on the ‘Freshman Application Process News and Notes’ page but the banner saying that decisions would be released on the 14th isn’t on the website anymore (as far as I can tell).
@retrohippo Aaah! Read through that too quickly…

The banner’s only on the admissions home page - [Home | Yale College Admissions](http://admissions.yale.edu/)
When I tried to log into my Eli account, I got the note saying decisions would come out on the 15th :/

I’m tempted to just call them and ask, but no. I will not give in.

Can anyone confirm the Eli account Dec. 15th note? The anticipation… agh.

Yeah I get it too - when I click on the ‘Application Status’ link it gives me that cruel 12/15/12 note…

It may be that we’re supposed to check our decisions on the Early Action Decisions link, which isn’t available yet? It’s located below the application status link on [this page](http://admissions.yale.edu/application-status-information)

“The Yale Application Status website is unavailable until 12am EST 12/15/12.”

Looks like it says that the Application Status page is down, not the whole Eli Account system. I’m assuming it’s an attempt to limit pointless traffic prior to decision release.

Probably. The evening of 14th banner is still there. It’s also very unlikely that they would come into such a last minute problem that they absolutely need an extra 7 hours for decisions.

^^ Probably that. Our decisions are released via another link, not Application Status, and they’re probably trying to limit traffic so that they don’t waste bandwith on people checking the Eli log-in beforehand (and thus probably slowing down notification when 5 PM comes around).
