Yale Class of 2018 RD Discussion Thread

@Dontor
I am getting 8 responses that day so I will definitely be freaking out as soon as 12:00 am hits that day. I don’t have a plan other than to go to school and maintain the same process I have for the rest of college decisions that I have already had.

If I’m accepted, I think I’m going to marathon the third season of Avatar all the next day, because what else do you expect me to do when I’m happy? …Actually, I’ll probably do the same if I’m rejected… O.o

I haven’t told any of my friends what schools I applied to (international student). I will probably be on CC, being jealous of people posting their acceptances.

6 Responses for me that day.

And yeah, I didn’t tell anybody besides my parents and siblings where I’ve applied ivy league wise. They’re expected rejections, so I don’t want to have to tell people that ahaha

Oh and it’ll be worse because one of my friends spread a rumour around my school that I was accepted to Harvard, and half the school still believes it… it’ll be awkward to inform them that, in fact, I was not accepted to any Ivy haha

I have taken a overall laid-back part in telling people where I have applied. People at my school only know where all I am applying if they ask me specifically but most, by now, realize that I have applied to loads of highly competitive schools and most know that everything is coming out the dreaded March 27th so that Friday is gonna be full of sad emotions for me…

It’s slightly awkward for me, because no one in England knows when Ivy results come out, so they’ve been constantly asking me about it for the last two weeks or so. That’s not exactly helpful stress-wise.

@astaff95 I know how you feel; there were only two(?) other students in my school who applied to Ivies, so no one else knows when results are released, even in my American school, haha. It’s frustrating…

Well, I have a friend who got an unconditional offer from Cambridge to read medicine, while EVERYONE in the UK gets conditionals, and she was already rejected by Yale, so I’m not feeling hopeful at all :frowning: Also, last night I had a nightmare in which I was rejected. It’s like my subconsciousness creaming at Yale: ‘Just do it already and get it over with!’

Haha I dreamed about my crush. Feeling very unsophisticated now compared to you.

Well, I like Yale so much that it is something of an (educational, at least) crush for me ;)
