@LAMuniv, Same here. I am an auditory person, and I have ideas but hate writing them down. I honestly hate taking notes. In math, I kind of just sit, listen, and watch.

But because of that, I think I’d be into acting/directing.

Haha all the INTJs. I’m actually an INFJ though…and some Ennegram test said I’m type 1, but I don’t really understand the Ennegram stuff.
I know personality types don’t matter that much, but I’m a psych major. :P

Ah, cooking. My mom insists that I’m going to starve in college as I can’t even cook an egg without screaming in terror (I hate it when grease starts popping up at me…).

@brokenandhealed, Cog. Sci. major!!! It’s nice to see someone else into studying the mind.

@meghamind
As a fellow Indian, I am quite familiar with Maggi noodles. Maggi is pretty good but you can make Ramen just as good if you know what Indian spices to mix with the Ramen stuff ;). Yea and diced tomatoes! :D

Hi, everyone! I just wanted to wish you all good luck for this Thursday.
—Play Hunger Games music that was frequented within the SCEA thread—

Did anyone receive a “check your admissions decision on March 27th” email today???

Nope; everyone on the Harvard thread says that neither Harvard nor Yale sent out emails.

@matrixsurgeon @meghamind Can I join the Indian-people-Maggi-noodles club? I was in LOVE with those things when I was a kid…

There are several things you didn’t mention - recs, essays, leadership, etc. Your stats are great, but if you have nothing but good stats and a couple of awards, you can’t expect to get in.

@meghamind

I actually like the way you approached the essay. It’s certainly risky, but you only live life once and honestly you have a much better shot at acceptance by doing something unorthodox like that than by writing about another “accomplishment.” Everybody has accomplishments.

Good luck to you!

@jackson61 @matrixsurgeon did my name give it away? lol And feel free to join the party. Any Maggi-lover is invited to my bi-monthly Maggi dinner featuring yours truly as the gourmet chef. :-j

@LAMuniv don’t worry, I applied to about six safeties… got into all of 'em, so I guess my plan worked
but yeah, now I only have matches/reaches left, and it’s freaking me out…

@EtiquetteOfWar thanks for the kind words! Also it was definitely a hit or miss but meehhhhh glad I tried it at least

@meghamind @jackson61
If we all get into Yale, we should hold a Maggi Eating Club every so often and mass produce maggi and give it to the student body. We would become instant favorites!! :0

@jackson61 I didn’t really end up applying to any match schools, which was a mistake - only reaches and safeties. At least I’d be happy going to my safeties, though. Not very hopeful about the reaches :P

OMG THIS IS FANTASTIC WHY HAVE I NOT CONSIDERED THIS BEFORE?!?!?! @jackson61 @matrixsurgeon

I made the right call (barely) by only applying to one true “match” school and not a single safety. It was a state flagship that happens to be one of the top universities in the country so it was a risk but it paid off because I am an in state applicant. It allowed me to save money from applying to several safeties and transfer that to more schools that I was really really interested in but I probably didn’t have a real chance for but wanted to try.

@matrixsurgeon I started out reading your post with a smile, but when I got to “instant favorites” it turned into full-blown laughter
And YES. Maggi noodles are our king.

@LAMuniv Aw, hey, but at least you’d be happy with your safeties, right? I know I love many of mine, especially UT Austin and UW Madison :)
